The time has come to say good bye and thank you for this time. My nine month DT term has come to an end and I must say it was very nice to get the oppounity to scrap with my old time favorite Urban Lily ♥ which will allways have a place in my scrappy heart.

I will end with a page made using my favorite collections ... well I have a few more *LOL*.. but some of my favorite collections. The title says "Skrattfest" which is Swedish and means "laughing party" or something similar. Anyway the page makes me smile.

I love to take a simple design on a white background and add pops of color with pp and embellies. I used several Urban Lily embellishments on my page to do this. I used the number it chipboard, the Love Seals Rub Ons, and a heart cut out from the Accents collection, and of course I can't forget the Impish paper from the Mayella line. I added a couple of buttons and brads and some thickers for the title and this layout was all done!

I love the papers that I used on this layout. They have such amazing colors and are really easy to use. The Sienna Paper from the Urban Lily girl collection made a wonderful background and I loved the saying used on it. I also used the Petite paper from the Mayella Collection for some contrast behind my photo. I added an Urban Lily butterfly rubon for a little embellie cluster, some ribbon and brads, and some flowers, and my layout was complete! With such beautiful papers to work with it's not hard to do!

Today I have to share a little mini:

For the structure, I bent over the pages of a Secret Keeper Cardstock and I have sewn on 3 sides and the center, so as to create pockets in which thread the tags. First, I ran the center seam, which is hidden under the paper and after the sides, which remain in sight.

I soiled all the edges with green paint and then I decorated.

I created this layout using the Happy Everything Collection: Beautiful & Celebrate

and some mists as well as washi tape and voila a super quick and easy page. I think it took me a total of 30 minutes including my journaling.

I have been limited on time these days but still like to get a bit of scrapbooking in, this is the perfect way to achieve that.

Thinking about Christmas...

I have prepared an easy card. I used one of the Secret Keeper Windows, the star one, and scraps of papers Mayella Colletion: Petite and Sassy. On the Sassy one, I stamped a Christmas greeting, a stripe, to show under the window, and by cutting the circles of the Petite one, I prepared a little tree.
Very quick!

Of course I did a LO too! I can't live without them!

I choosed a winter theme:

I used, as background, the Pure paper. With a scrap of Gossip, I did a tag, and I have combined them with ATC cards. As embellishment I have choosed the circle Secret Keeper Windows and recycled materials.

Andrea MacDonald with you here today and I think it's time we talk Christmas. I live far away from my family so our Christmas is pretty quiet but I do go all out and deck the halls.

This year I wanted to make some decorations that showcase how fast my girls are growing up. What better way than to use the Urban Lily Secret Keeper Windows!

There are many different ways to decorate these lovely windows and I wanted to show you one of them.

I first stamped an image on my secret keeper and heat embossed it.

Next I used some Glimmer Mist in a lovely Brick Red.

Once dry, I grabbed some Ranger Stickles and made little dots all the way around. Punched a hole at the top with my Crop A Dile and added a ribbon so they can be hung on the tree.

Next, you can add a picture of your choice.

It was so much fun playing around with paints and glitter to make these great decorations.

Pretty in Pink!

I love the beautiful shade of pink on the Urban Lily Pink Flamingo paper and thought it would be a wonderful background for a photo I had of my neice. I also cut out some black flowers from the Lala Looliloo paper. To give it some dimension I added a pink paislee overlay and some buttons. And the finishing touch was this great pink chipboard circle from Urban Lily!

Happy Sunday! It's Janet here today.
I don't know about you but I always seem to purchase at least one gift card for Christmas so
I decided to make a couple of gift card holders this year.

I whipped these 2 up very quickly but you could of course embellish them more elaborately if you wish to.

Is it Christmas time?

Hi everyone. I know many of you think I'm crazy talking about Christmas, especially since the USA hasn't even had Thanksgiving yet. Well, today I was taking my daughter to an appointment when we encountered SNOW!!!! I know most of you would say well I had snow last month already but where I live we just don't get snow very often. So seeing that white stuff made me get into Christmas mode.

I don't normally make all of my Christmas cards just because I have way too many to make. However there are a select group that do get a special home made one.

This year I decided to go easy and clean. I used the gorgeous Mayella Petite from Urban Lily and a border punch for the tree

and for the wreath I used a Martha Stewart punch and Tim Holtz stamp.

I really love using non-themed papers for special themes such as Christmas. What will you be creating for Christmas?

The coolness factor!

My oldest son is all about rock n roll and being cool. We had fun a few weeks back with a photo shoot downtown where we live. We picked a Sunday where most things were closed and took some great shots on back streets, alleys, old store fronts, etc.. My challenge was to be able to scrap these without losing the urban feel...so why not use URBAN lily!!! I chose the polo pattern paper from the blink collection for my background. I simply cut two sheets in half and only used the dot portions for my background. I then added some black glimmer mist to hide the seams. I also cut out several different sizes of stars from Sassy from the Mayella collection and Celebrate from the Happy Everything collection. I also added an Urban Lily Answer It round chipboard embellie and a couple of rubons and journaling strips. I love the way it turned out and so does my son!

It's so perfect fo personal gift and my sister loves hand made gifts like this, but who doesn't, right! I spray painted the entire album and used black and white photos.

Congratulation Cards

This week I actually needed 2 Congrats cards.

What I love about Urban Lily papers is how they make it so quick and easy to pull a project together.

From just one piece of patterned paper from the Blink collection I was able to make 2 cards.
All I did was just add some matching cardstock, a couple of brads, stickers for my sentiment and some Stickles and "bam" my cards were done.

Using those Halloween Photos

So now we have all taken these fab and striking Halloween photos and as the feast is over we have time to document and save those precious memories.
After misting some warm orange and gold on my background white card stock, I used the Urban Lily Mooch and Sugar Collection together with the Urban Cut mini book bright to cut elements in various colors of yellow, orange and red. I then outlined all elements that didn't already have a border and put them randomly under the photo. I also used black card stock to highlight the photos after sanding the edges to make a bright contrast.
Some alphas, some flowers and bling, washi tape and a clip, and finally a stamp and then I am ready - easy peasy.

Thinking of You Card

I had a friend of mine that I haven't spoken to for quite some time, so I wanted to send her a card and let her know I was thinking about her.

For this card I used May Ella Pure and Bliss papers, along with Everyday Lily Sushi Stripe paper. I did include a little bit of personal stash items, such as the cheesecloth, flowers and chipboard chicken wire. For the edges I used some blue distress ink and I added blue glitter glue to the flowers.

Summer lovin! I know, I know,...summer is only a memory now but I still have a ton of fun summer pictures to scrap and I don't want to wait until next year. This is where Urban Lilly's Mooch Gossip paper comes in. I love the bright, fun colors and free-styling patterns.

I made the banner at the top using Urban Lily ATC Cards Blanks. I made a triangle template and then traced them onto the colors I wanted.

The giant, pink heart with curcly Q's is from another sheet of Smooch paper which I attached to my page using a dimensional adhesive.

Our family had a great Halloween and now we are on to Christmas. Eeek!!!! So I thought it might be a good time to remember some moments from our summer.

It's All In The Paper

I wanted to show you this beautiful layout that I made with the Urban Lily Poppy paper and just a couple of supplies. All it took to create this layout was 2 pieces of cardstock, one sheet of Urban Lily Poppy, some journaling strips, black marker, blue gemstones, and black fabric thickers. This paper is so beautiful on its own that it doesn't need much to make it shine!

Just a few days to Halloween. Are you ready? In my house it's all black and orange for the occasion, and... we also have a very special witch!

To make this page, I used as a background paper Smootch, coupled with the orange circle of the paper Sugarhigh well with green circles and blacks from Hyperactive.

I surrounded one of them by a ribbon to show in the witch rub-on.

I did a cloud using an Accent.

Some stickers and a sentence from the paper Number,

and the page for my "witch" is over. Happy Halloween!

Halloween is coming...

With Halloween fast approaching I thought it would be fun to use up some of my Urban Lily papers and make a fun decoration for the house. I don't know about you but we love Halloween on Vancouver Island. The kids get dressed up and go door to door for Trick or Treating. Our community also has a huge bon fire with fireworks after the trick or treating is done. There are parties everywhere and different events. We have pumpkin patches all throughout the island that you go and pick your own pumpkins. Halloween is big!

So in honour of the big day I made a fun witches hat.

There are tons of tutorial online on how to make them but I just rolled up a piece of Urban Lily Happy Everything- Always. I stapled it to secure it, then used adhesive to make sure it wasn't going anywhere.

The best part of the hat was adding fun details. I punched out some ribbed circles from the Urban Lily orange ATC cards. I also used some orange trim I had on hand. I added some black ribbons and a little fly button embellie.

I love checking out different blogs to get ideas like these. There are all sorts of fun witches hats just like mine with different finishing touches.

~Easy Peasy Flower Pins~

I created these six inch flower pins for an upcoming layout, but I wanted to share how easy it was to create these fun pins!!

Items you will need:

- 6" Stick Pins

- Flower Die or Punch of your choice.

- Tulle

- 4mm Beads

- Medium Sized Brads

1. Punch or Die Cut your flowers and layer them using a brad to attach them together.

2. On the back side of the flower, slide your pin down one arm of the brad and add a little glue to secure it.

3. Tie strips of tulle onto your pin and slide up towards the flower.

4. Add your beads for the stems and you might need to add a tiny amount of glue if your beads are loose.

That's it!! I will be featuring these pins on a layout coming on the 27th!!

For this LO I choosed a love theme because love is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

As background I used Blackout paper and a part of Calendar. From this paper I cut out the branch and I colored the flowers with a blue marker.

Under the photo, I put the blue circle from Sugarhigh and, as embellishments, were perfect the big heart and the bird from Accents.

I wrote the title with the Alphabet, and I added a little circle, from Hyperactive paper.

Some ribbons and pearls to complete the page, and it's all!

A Calendar Event

Hi everyone, Andrea MacDonald with you today. I have a great little calendar to share with you.

All you need is an Ikea frame:

and the awesome Urban Lily Urban Cut collection Calendar:

I trimmed the calendar sheet down to fit the frame which didn't take much. I then misted the frame with some mists. The beauty about the Ikea frame is the glass part is actually plastic and it has a thin plastic coating over top. So once your frame is dry you just remove the plastic coating. No making needed (unless you use some cool masks to get creative).

I cut out the flowers from the calendar sheet and misted them to match the frame.

and finally just added a few little touches.

What makes this calendar so special? Well, the sheet that you put in doesn't have numbers on it, and the plastic part of the frame can be written on with window markers or dry eraser markers. You can see in the photo above that I wrote October, my numbers and our events all in window markers. When your month is done wipe it all off and switch to a whole different month.

I also used my Cricut and cut out an apple and a pumpkin to embellish the month accordingly.

This time I let myself be inspired by a sketch, from Sketchy Thursdays, which was perfect to use my Urban Lily papers!

As background, I chose paper Raw from Mooch Collection, then I cut two circles from Sugarhight and I performed some big colored seams. So I added photos and, from the calendar I cut the strip of the week, working it so that it resembles a strip of tickets.

For the title I used a part of the same sheet from which I cut out the ornaments and I completed with a foam alphabet American Crafts and some Rub-Ons Creative Imagination. Very simple but effective, do not you think?

Hi it's Janet here with you today. Hope you are having a great Sunday.

The other day I was trying to do some organizing in my scrap room......you all know how that it is right?
Well I came across a Hambly transparency that I had never used even though it was my current favourite colour...teal! I wondered what could I create with it instead of it just being put right back into my stash and I immediately thought of the Mooch collection that also has the teal in it.

So I pulled just 2 papers from this collection, Spark and Gossip and along with my transparency, cardstock, stamps and some bling made 2 cards.

I think they turned out great!!

I hope you will be inspired to pull out some of your forgotten product and team them up with some awesome Urban Lily paper, which is currently all on sale at Scrap-Tastic, and get creating!

My oldest son is definately a rocker. From his huge collection of band shirts, skinny jeans, loud music, guitar playing, being in his own band, and basically being his own person no matter what any one thinks. I recently took some photos of him that really capture his personality and the Rock Star collection from Urban Lily was perfect! For the large butterfly I heat embossed the butterfly from the Secret Keeper and then glimmer misted over top. For the butterflies on the Urban Lily Bliss paper I painted glimmer glam over top.

I always enjoy playing with other tools to make those Urban Lily papers really stand out.

Today I want to romance, and so I chose papers with delicate colors, suitable to cut and combine to create a special page.

Firts, I created a background with a mask and glimmer mist, so I printed with a stamp some leaves and then I cut branches and flowers from the paper Sushi.

To frame the photo I used two circles (Sushi stripe and Sushi dots) sewn together and a ribbon pleated.
To give structure, I bent and ripped a Memory photocard and I used it like an old broken branch.

Some flowers, scallop circles and small embellishments from the same papers and the page is finished.

Happy Friday everyone! It's Janet with you today and I apologize if I have been a bit MIA lately but I have been spending a lot of time with my parents lately due to some health issues with my Dad.
However I did find some play time. It's a great stress reliever isn't it?

My sister in law gave my daughter and her husband Snuggy sacks for Christmas as a bit of a joke and we all could not stop laughing when they decided to model them!

It was so quick and easy to put a layout together using Urban Lily products since they do all the work for you and of course using a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays made it even quicker.

I thought I would post a really fun and easy card I made using Urban Lily products. I simply used a sheet of "Gossip" patterned paper by Urban Lily as my background paper and then I took the black polka dot paper on the bottom of the mini-book black and white urban cuts and punched out both sides using a Fiskars page punch. I then added lots of colorful buttons and one of the adorable sayings from the mini-book bright urban cuts. And there you have it....a cute and easy card using Urban Lily!

As I write this I am pretty confident that there are a lot of mom and dads out there dropping their kids off to school. Fortunately my kids are still to young but my oldest goes to preschool in 2 weeks. I thought it would be fun to get back to summer. I'm not quite ready to let go : )

My layout today didn't actually use any Urban Lily paper. Instead I used the Urban Lily photo cards and cut them up into different sized circles. I then stamp using a background stamp in grey so it didn't stand out too much. I also used the Urban Lilly Urban Cut Alphabet. Love these letters because you can make them your own.

I hope everyone had a most memorable summer and good luck with all of that back to school stuff.

Fun and Simple Card

I absolutely love that Urban Lily papers make your projects look like you spent hours on fussy cutting! This card was so easy because I used Urban Lily papers. I cut a portion of Happy for my main part of the card. I used a small strip of Impish across the bottom of the Happy piece of paper. Finally I added the chipboard sentiment.

A quick layout!

I wanted to share this layout that i made using the Urban Lily Angelina Girl Collection . This layout only took me about thirty minutes and I love it! This paper is so stunning on it's own that it doesn't take much to make it shine. I simply double matted it and roughed up the edges. Then I cut out the larger butterfly that was on the part of the pp that I didn't use. I placed the photo at an angle and layered the butterfly over the edge. I added some journaling strips, buttons and twine, and a little bit of stickles. Hope you like it!

Do you Smash?

Hi everyone. It's Andrea MacDonald with you today to talk about the hot Smash books. Do you Smash?

I absolutely LOVE my Smash book I also love all of my smash accessories but... I have too many to store in the back. I don't know about you but I tote my Smash book around with me all of the time. But what do you do when you need to add some of the accessories?

You add a pocket for them!

All I did was use my fabulous Urban Lily Paper May Ella- Impish. It was the perfect colour for my Smash book. I measured out a piece that was 9 1/2 by 6 inches. Then from about 1 1/4 inch from the top I measured from the centre up to each corner and trimmed it off to look like an envelope. I then finished it off using a border punch and some May Ella- Sassy to make a trim. This was perfect for me to carry along all of those other add ons.

So bust out those fabulous Urban Lily papers and jazz up your Smash books!

Because, even though life sometimes leaves people, true friends stand up to the time and distance!

For this page, I have chosen as a background, the paper Blackout from Blink Collection, and I added the bird and cut flowers from the paper Ink.

They had the perfect color to match with the photo: and below this, as a kind of mat, I put a scrap of paper Massimo with the border worked.

I cut out the letters of the Alphabet for the title, leaving a small white border, and then I added themed embellishments to complete the page.

These papers really have a wide range of uses. This particular layout I decided to grunge up and have some fun with. The photos are of my daughters and some friends of theirs. I used paints and inks to created a fun and funky girly grunge page.

I love love love these secret keepers! At an angle I sprayed towards the top half of this butterfly to get this faded out look. Really easy to do.

Textures can be easier to find than you think. Old jeans, t-shirts, tulle, burlap, felt, etc, etc!!

Mini flowers are such a must in anyone scrappy collection. I usually find these types of flowers in sections other than scrapbooking.

Adding depth

Hi everyone, Andrea MacDonald here with you today to show you and ocean adventure layout using chipboard and paint for depth.

Living on the west coast, we get to see all sorts of creatures. A few weeks ago we just came in from paddling on the water and one of the local fishermen had found an octopus in his net. We got to touch it and watch it get released back into the water. The crazy thing is I've never seen an octopus up close and personal until now. They are so fascinating. So I decided to do a layout about this great experience.

I wanted to add some depth to my page but have an ocean theme. So I cut up a bunch of plain chipboard. You know the ones that come with your fabulous papers when you order through the mail? I just free hand cut some waves and glued them onto plain white cardstock.

I then painted the waves in 3 steps. I started with a light green to match my Urban Lily papers. Let it dry completely and then paint the second colour which I chose a turquoise colour. Again let dry completely and then finish with a third colour.

Once all the paint is dry I tool my Tim Holtz sandpaper and sanded away until the colours underneath started showing through.

Don't be afraid if you sand all the way through to the chipboard because you can go back and touch up with whatever colour you want.

I love the different colours and texture this technique provides.

There are so many fun things that remind me of summer and one of those has to be blowing bubbles. When i started out working on this design I had a specific picture in mind, and I knew that I wanted to have fun with black and white and pops of bright colors to accent. Once I had the photo the way I wanted I started to thumb through my Urban Lily papers. Right away the Sugar High paper in the Mooch collection instantly jumped out at me! The colors were perfect and the big circles were like big bubbles! I then traced a design onto one of the Polka Dot Memory Cards as an added background accent. I also added a cute flower from the Urban Lily Urban Cuts Collection. After adding some colorful embellies and a title my design was complete!

We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Happy Sunday all. It's Janet here today and I'm trying to keep cool. :)

There is nothing I like better than an ice cream cone on a hot summer day so I thought why not make one on a card.

I punched circles out of the Hyperactive paper from the Mooch collection to make my ice cream scoops and used the Impish paper from the Mayella collection for the background of my card.

Here you can see the Stickles that I added to my "scoops" to make them glittery.

This card was so easy to make and I LOVE how it turned out!

You love horses - how to change the colors - by Eli

My daughter loves horses. They are her passion. I have lot of photos with this natural colors, not so easy to coordinate. So I had a simple idea... I can't change the photo colors but I can change the colors of the papers! This I did in my page:

The paper Massimo, as background, was perfect, but the stripe paper Impish wasn't. So, with markers, I colored the individual strips, in order to transform the original color in a more suitable to my page. To understand that color could be appropriate, I have done before the tests.

I did the same with the circles form paper Petite and from paper Forever.

To complete the page I used felt embellishments, flowers and stickers.

Hi everyone, Andrea MacDonald with you today. It has been a lovely summer in my neck of the woods. How is yours?

Today I wanted to share a mini album I made for a very good friend of mine. We spend a lot of time together and she has done some amazing things for me so I wanted to give her something for all of her help.

I made a summer mini album using the fabulous Urban Lily paper line Happy Everything and California. The perfect mix for a summer mini. Have a look:

I kept it very clean and simple so that she can add her own little touches. On the cover I heat embossed using PSA stamps and Zing embossing powder and bound the album with some scrap pieces of fabric.

This layout was based on a sketch by my good friend, Charlotte. The photo is of my oldest and youngest daughters, a few years ago. I used lots of inks and a bit of gesso with a bit of bling and some flowers from my stash.

A Little Watermelon Salad

I just love watermelon salad in the summer. The first time I heard of the combination of watermelon, mint, feta cheese, fresh lime, and olives I wasn't too sure of how it would be. However, I gave it a try and it is DELICIOUS! I thought I would not only share the recipe but also how perfect the Urban Lily papers were for this recipe layout. My layout is 6x6. I also cut the watermelons on my Silhouette.

Ingredients for Watermelon Salad:
• 4 cups watermelon, cubed
• 1/4 cups pitted olives
• 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
• 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh mint
• 1/2 cup / 2 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
Combine the fresh lime juice, watermelon, olives, and mint. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Sprinkle your watermelon salad with cheese and serve. If you prefer to make your salad into a meal, serve the watermelon salad over your favorite greens.

Have you ever thought about making a layout on something other than a traditional piece of cardstock or patterned paper? I have and today I'm going to show you a layout that I made on this fabulous calendar sheet from Urban Lily. Sometimes a little change is nice. :)

The calendar sheet started out black and white so I added plenty of bright colored patterned papers from Urban Lily's MayElla collection and lots of great Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

Urban Lily and an Eclectic Mix!

Good Tuesday morning everyone! For today's post I wanted to share with you how you can mix all sorts of found treasures with Urban Lily papers. For this layout I used the Urban Lily "Bonnie" pp. The colors went perfectly with this photo of my daughter. To add to the country feel I used all sorts of products that I found around the home. I cut up a box and used the cardboard for the photo background, I simply drybrushed some white paint over it. I also used some old sheet music that I drybrused white paint over also. I used a swatch of vintage upholstery fabric (yes, I save just about everything!) to add some texture behind the cardboard. I even used masking tape for my journaling strips. To get the journaling to look faded I simply used an eraser over the words to lightly fade the marker. To tone down the red cardstock and red flower I also used white paint. I love the soft look of this layout, and hope you get to searching your house for some treasures to use on your next design too!

Hello, gurls!

Are you on holiday? I am!!!!!

But before I leave you for 2 weeks, I will show you my last page with Urban Lily products: it's a summer LO, with hard colors, like summer is.

I used as background the Cheeky paper and a yellow cardstock.

As embellishment, I have cut out the big flowers from Poppy paper and with the frame of Lola paper I did a swirl.

As title I used a piece of Beautiful paper and from the same paper I have choosed a flower and punched 2 little butterflies.

Under the title there is a stripe of Impish paper worked with a border punch.

To give a feminine touch to the page, I added a ribbon and a crochet border on the right.

A Mini Book

Happy Sunday morning to you all! It's Janet here today. :)

I was intrigued with the Mini Book Bright in the Urban collection. I thought it would make an adorable mini with some little pool photos that I had.

It was so quick and easy to put together. I just added a few extra embellishments and some stamping using myStampBOX stamps and some ribbon as a closure and I was done! I hope you will give it a try!

The butterfly was punched out using the Impish paper from the Mayella collection.

Hi everyone, Andrea MacDonald here with you today to talk about cards. Who here is a card maker? Did you notice I didn't raise my hand? Lets face it. I am NOT a card maker. I try really hard but for some reason it just never seems to come together for me. So this week I challenged myself to make a few cards using the fabulous Urban Lily products.

I find it always useful to have a few spare cards on hand for whatever might pop up. Next week is my husband and I's 6th wedding anniversary. So I figured I should tackle that card first.

I have a real passion for the Mooch paper line and the big pink circle inspired my to do some small circles using mist. I also cut out a smaller half circle from the mooch paper and used at the edge of the paper.

I cut out some flowers from the happy everything paper but I wanted some more variations in color (one of the flowers was all deep pink) so I used a white pen to color parts of the flower - to make it look more like the other flowers. I then smothed the white with my finger tip until I had the effect I was serching for. I mounted the flowers on 3D foam.

I cut the title form a Happy Everything paper.

Hello! Liz here, hoping you all had a fabulous 4th of July weekend! I know I did!

Today I am going to share a LO I made using Urban Lily's MayElla collection. I love the bright colors and detailed prints. I used this week's sketch from The Scrappiest blog.

I love fussy cutting. It's a great, speedy way of getting a LO done that looks like you spent a lot of time on it.

A girl's gotta' have sparkle so I used my favorite glitter glue throughout the whole page.

Make it Yours!

When I started out with the idea for this page I knew that I wanted something soft and pink to go with this specific photo of my niece. I fell in love with the Urban Lily Sushi paper but I didn't want the brown flowers I wanted black to go with the background in the photo. So....I used a black marker and changed them! Such a simple way to change any paper to go with your photos. I also cut out the oval frame from Urban Lily's Linen Dot paper and several flowers from Sushi Dot and I had the perfect paper for my layout. I even traced the shape from another pp I had in my stash to get the shaped paper and adhered it to black cardstock. So next time you have paper you love, but it's just missing that one special color (or maybe two or three) just take out the markers and change it!

This is the translation of the title I gave to this page. A cheerful and colorful page, as the girls in the photo!

As background I used Pink Flamingo Paper, by California Collection. Behind the photo, I put the frame with flowers from Beautiful paper.

As embellishments I used a phrase from Mini Book Bright, a big 3 cut from the paper Number and the crown from paper Lola, with strasses.

Finally, to complete, I added the title, with colorful ribbons

and two butterflies made with Linen paper.

Hi everyone! It's Janet here with you today.

My 2 little grandnephews are just too cute and they love each other so much. I had these photos of them from last Mother's Day and thought these papers would be the perfect choice to create a layout.

I used Polo from the Blink collection and Bloss from the Sugary collection.

The whole page just came together so quickly and it helped that I used a sketch from Sketchabilities.

Water Distressing Technique

One of my all time favorite techniques is a light water distressing trick that I do. It's very simple and all you need is a glass of water and a q-tip or two. Here is a recent layout of my daughter that I did using water distressing.

I mainly use this technique around the border of my paper, but you can do this on every layer that you use. For this layout I used Pure and Cheeky from the May Ella collection along with Chic from the Just Add Color collection.

To get this look follow these simple steps:

1) Distress your edges with your favorite distressing tool or the edge of scissors.

2) Ink your edges in your choice of color and ink.

3) Dip your q-tip in your water and begin running it along the edges of your paper. Do this enough to saturate the edges and let your ink run a little.

4) When I layer my papers I always try to scrunch up the edges so that the other layers show and crinkle together.

5) Go over your edges again with an ink blending tool.

** Added flair: I used some glitter paint to enhance my edges even more.

Urban Lily and Project 12

Hi everyone, Andrea MacDonald here with you today. For my project this week I decided to combine my Urban Lily products and participate in the Project 12. Are any of you participating in Project 12? This is my second year and I love that every month I have a layout that summarizes that month. What I love even more is you have a sketch to work with. The best part is you can make the sketch your own.

For this layout I fussy cut my papers and then added Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam. It gave it sparkle but also curled the flowers to give is a little dimension.

I love these pages by Urban Lily. With a little effort they are finished. I cut the circles from another Urban Lily pattern paper along with the title and voila the layout was complete. The colors and prints were perfect for showcasing my daughter playing in the rain.

A card and some ATC by Petra

Today I am showing a card and some ATC cards using Urban Lily ATC catds and urban cuts.

The card has a Urban Cuts tag with a Congrats greeting. I used machine stitching to close the card so that the tag wouldn't fall out.

Urban Lily have this cute little ATC card pack with adorable colors and dotty pattern. All I had to do with the base was to round the corners. I cut out some detals and stitched on.

I love round layouts and I don't do them often enough. I just think they have such a nice flowing feel to them. I created this layout using papers from the Urban Lily Blink collection and bits from the Urban Cuts pages. I just added in some of my own embellishments. I based this layout on a sketch by Ali MacDonald.

To get the scallops I used a large scalloped decorative scissor and went around the edges. Other decorative styles work as well.

A tip I always like to share when working with flowers or larger embellishments is to cluster up and hug them into your photos. This way they don't look like they are floating on your page.
