Wishes and Magic

Hello Scrappers !! I'm Aida and this time I'm back with a soft and and dreamy layout for a friend Sheryll. Frames are pretty much part of my style as I feel layouts look more finished when the main content is framed either by patterned paper or cardstock.

In the layout below, I taped a square piece of paper from an old magazine in the center, then lightly sprayed Maya Road mist all over.

I used a fine-tip black marker pen to reinforce the frame's inner edge. The splotches of dark brown mist were dripped from a height of 2 feet above the cardstock. Next were the stamped words, part of which I used as the title "Beautiful".

I made these 3 layouts to complete my mother's album...
First with pictures of her as a child... I combined the UL paper with a sheet of book paper and some stickers :)

And then with a picture of her and her sister... The paper had the perfect color to match the sepia photo and I just had to stitch around the picture and add some paint and stickers to finish...

a couple of cards

Happy Tuesday, y'all! Sarah, here. Today, instead of the usual layouts that I absolutely LOVE to post, I thought I'd share a couple of cards.





Because the patterned papers are simply GORGEOUS, they look fabulous on cards. To create these cards, I adhered the paper to plain white cardstock. Then, I folded the paper in half to make the card base.

Lastly, I embellished accordingly. For my sentiments, I used some really cute SRM stickers that my friend sent me.

Cooler times

The weather here has been nearly unbearable. The temperatures have soared into the upper 90s and the humidity is very high. I find myself daily wishing for a cold front and a sprinkling of snow. So, I pulled out a couple of my cold weather pictures and chose some cool colors for my papers.
On this day, the sun was shining and there were no clouds in the sky yet there were beautiful snow crystals falling from the air like magic. It was quite a sight to behold. I've used Everyday Lily Linen, Happy Everything Celebrate, May Ella Petite, and Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner and Professional Acid Free Glue.

I hope you will find some Urban Lily inspiration and winter photos to help keep you cool this summer!

just a quick layout post.

Good day to you all! It's me, Sarah. Today, I'm going to make this a fairly quick post with one of my latest layouts using some swanky goodness. :)

Have you seen the Mooch collection?! The bright colors mixed with black make for a really great color combination. Here's a simple layout that I created with a couple sheets from this collection:



I cut out the wave from one sheet, and I adhered it on top of another Mooch sheet.

To give it some pizazz, I added Stickles to the wave!



...so what'd you all think?! Pretty, right?

All Season Layouts from Virginia

So tell me, how is your summer going? Are you enjoying the carefree days? The warm sunshine? I'd like to share a couple of layouts I created using the wonderful Urban Lily papers. I love that I can use these papers for any season. Below I have a wintery layout and then a summery layout. Yes, I love the versatility of Urban Lily.

For the "beautiful Sorta sweet" layout, the papers used were Impish, Bliss, Beautiful, and Lulu.  Other supplies include gems by Kaisercraft and chipboard (source unknown).

Here is yet another summer layout of my daughter and her love of applies! LOL I had several scraps that matched perfectly. They are Massimo, Breeze,  and Bliss.

Here are my 2 latest heritage layouts for my mother's album... and this is her mother and her father :)


Supplies:

White acrylic paint
A sewing machine and thread

I cut the circle out of the paper on the left side, in order to insert the picture in the paper design... then I stitched with my sewing machine, in circles, and added paint dots and stickers for decoration...
For the right side, I added the brownish paper to make the pink look better for a man's picture... Also paint dots, stitching and stickers to finish :)

All you need is cardstock (I used metallic foil cardstock), some ribbon, foam letters and the gorgeous Urban Lily papers:

Just cut the 4 edges of the cardstock, scrap it, fold it and tie your new card with a ribbon... quick and easy, isn't it?

It's not just for

Hi! Rachel here! For today's posting, I challenged myself to use some of my fantastic Urban Lily products in creative ways. Here's what I came up with!
The mini book in black and white is not just for mini-books! Here I've used it as tiles for a card. I backed the tiles with Breeze from the Sugary Collection using Helmar dry adhesive and Professional Acid Free Glue. The background of the card is white cardstock that has been misted with dark gray. It's going to be the perfect card for a co-worker who is moving away.

And Holly from the Oh So Merry Collection is not just for Christmas. Here I've used it as the background for a page about my dog. It's grouped with flowers from Beautiful in the Happy Everyday Collection and Posh Photo Cards. Of course, it's also held together with Helmar dry adhesive and Professional Acid Free glue. Obviously these are my favorites from Helmar today!

I really enjoyed thinking of different ways to use these products from Urban Swank and I hope that you will have fun with them, too!
