Mixing it Up !!

Hello scrappers, it's Aida back again with another Urban Lily project !

Fairly often I hear comments about how hard it is to scrap papers with bold graphic designs and even tougher to combine the different lines for layouts. Yes I have to admit graphic designs may be a challenge initially, but as you use them more and more, you will be able to find common design links that will pull together to make your project appealing. Below are papers from two contrasting UL lines - Happy Everything with it's bold black and strong graphics and Lulliloo which is soft and sweet.

Happy Everything :

Lulliloo :

I love the strength of the bold butterflies because it reminds me of how much my seventeen year old has matured, grown in confidence and become the person she was meant to be. Every parent has hopes for the kids and we all want them to be comfortable in their abilities, to have a sureness of character and fill their potential. At the same time the peachy softness of the Lulliloo says inside she is still the same, sweet person even while her opinions and voice becomes more definite, more certain.

The layout is titled *You*.

The details :

So there you are : the different lines of Urban Lily can be combined to create a layout that tells a great story and one that is eye-catching.

I hope you are enjoying the varied work of the Design Team and that we've shown you how to get the most out of Urban Lily. Now it's time for you to get scrapping and have fun !!

Secret Keeper - Clara by Polinka

Hi Readers!

Polinka is here again, with another Secret Keeper used as a storage for drawings and scrapbooks... This one is for my niece Clara, who loves Pink above all other colors!!

Clara

Supplies:
Secret Keeper Cardstock - Butterfly by Urban Lily
Patterned Paper - Pink Flamingo by Urban Lily - California Collection
Helmar Adhesive Runner
Chipboard alphabet from Buzz and Bloom
Blue Glimmer Mist
White and Pink Acrylic Paint

The secret keeper cardstock has been sprayed with dark blue glimmer mist paint. And then I painted the alphabet chipboards in pink, assorted to the cute girly girl pink paper, of which I cut off the center circle...
I used te leftover center of the patterned paper, by sticking it inside the secret keeper, to decorate the butterfly!

To finish, I just added points of white and pink paint along the circle for the fun part!

Show us what you like to do with the Secret Keepers!

Happy Sunday!

Hi Swanky fans! It's me, Sarah, and I thought that today would be a great day to share a layout and card!

First up, I would like to share my most recent Urban Swank layout.

I used the following sheets on this layout:

To give it a "kick", I misted the background. I also cut out the flowers from the other sheet and used them as embellishments. For two sheets of paper, it turned out pretty, don't you think?!

Lastly, I wanted to share a card that I created with leftover scraps from my Urban Swank stash.

Hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I do. ...and thanks again for letting my share my work with all of you.

Hugs,
sarah.

Cards, etc... by Polinka

Hi!!

Today, I will show you 3 easy projects, including 2 cards and a layout...

Simple Card

I made this card in a few minutes, by using left-overs of ATC cards and a journaling card as the background...
I'm usually not a cardmaker, so I like when it goes fast and keeps simple design!

ATC Cards by Urban Lily
Helmar Adhesive Runner
Stamp for the word Simplement + black ink
A sewing machine

MJ card

I made this card about Michael Jackson for a friend of mine who is a real fan since she was born... I found this picture in a german magazine and thought of creating an ATC, but I couldn't fit everything on the small ATc size, so I finally decided for a card!

Supplies:
Memory Photocards - Swirl by Urban Lily

ATC Cards by Urban Lily
Helmar Adhesive Runner
Stickers & Stamps for the words + black and white ink

My nephews and niece helped me on this one! I gave them 3 white ATC cards to decorate as they wished with paint and drawing gum, and used them as a decoration for this silly photo of them!
Well, I gave them a few more products to play with and I will use them all on my next projects so stay tuned for children inspiration!! hehe!

Blue & Green

Hello, everyone! What is your favorite color? I like blue and green. Two layouts using the favorite color are introduced.
[beautiful world]
Supplies:
papers - Urban Lily
Adhesives – Helmar Adhesives

other - lettering
The main paper of this layout is Breeze of Sugary Collection. In addition, Mini Book B&W of Urban Cut Collection, Linen of Everyday Lily Collection, Stripe of Mooch Collection, and Sugarhigh were used.

The cutout of the design was carried out from the paper. Although it was very fine work, I like it very much:)
The next is also a layout which uses blue and green.
[Heaven's field]

Supplies:
papers, rubon,Seacret Keeper Windows - Urban Lily
Adhesives – Helmar Adhesives
other - lettering,flowers,ribbons

I used Ink of Blink Collection, and Massimo of Blink Collection with this layout. And Secret Keeper Windows is also used.

Since a window frame was fixed, I used Square White Zapdots of Helmar Adhesives in piles.

Fortunately I can make a work using the blue and green of Urban Lily products. And I expect that you will make a work using this product that gives a great inspiration.
Happy Friday!!

Some Fun with Urban Lily! from Virginia

My youngest is in Kindergarten. Every week, there seems to be a volunteering request. This week I was thrilled to make a "L'il Mommy" banner for the class kitchen. Here is my "L'il Mommy" modelling the banner.

Supplies:  Urban Lily papers used: Honey, Lulu, Ink, and Lily.   Helmar 450 adhesive, ribbon (source unknown), buttons (source unknown), sewing, EK Success flower punch

And a close-up of each banner flag.

We are also invited to a birthday party tomorrow. So with my scraps, I whipped up a quick card, coloured an image with my Copics and voila! instant birthday joy!

Thanks for letting me share!

Time Really Does Fly - from Virginia

When they say "Time Flies" it certainly applies to children. It seems like only yesterday that my daughters were born and now they are 5 and 10 yrs old.

Today I'd like to share a layout I did of my 10 yr old. using the following papers: Bloss, Honey, Midsummer  and Bonnie, all from the Sugary Collection.

To create the banner, I used my circle punch to punch the circles from the paper. The circles were folded in half and wrapped around some ric rac. As well, the primary adhesive used on this layout is from Helmars - love their adhesives! And to finish it off, I sprayed the layout with Tattered Angels glimmer mist.

Here is a close-up of the banner.

Life is very busy with 2 gregarious girls and I often find myself forgetting what day it is. I used the Photocards (Posh, Luna, Swirl and Polka Dot) to create this perpetual calendar. As well, I used the Numbers paper as the numbers on calendar.

The front cover is actually cardboard from a cereal box, covered with Linen from the Everyday Collection, Linen Stripe from the Everyday Collection, Impish from the Mayella Collection, Petite from the Mayella Collection and Bliss from the Mayella Collection. All the pieces are held together with the Zutter Bind it All.

Here is a close-up and side view of the perpetual calendar.

Thank you for letting me share.

Celebrate with Urban Lily !

Good morning scrappers ! I'm Aida and back with another layout.

All through our lives we have occasions for celebration and when my daughter graduated Secondary school with sterling grades, we were so thankful ! Her final year seemed endless, it was very tough for her and when graduation came around, it was time to celebrate. Stasha was over the moon at receiving top prizes for Biology and Chemistry and her happiness showed very clearly in the photographs.

Urban Lily's bright spunky colours and clean graphic lines suited the event to perfection.

I used the word Celebrate as the title and matted it with orange cardstock to make it stand out.

Parts of the UL calender where cut out and added as embellishments.

Details close-up :

Butterfly stickers are such pretty things and they gave the strong stripes of the paper a softer feel.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you will be prompted into scrapping a celebration layout !!

Some Fun Projects!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today, I wanted to share a couple of projects that I have recently created. Hopefully, you'll LOVE them as much as I do. :)

My first project highlights one of the the Urban Cut Collection sheets. I used the following sheet:

I titled my project "YOU". Then, I outlined the letters to give it color and dimension.

For my inner pages, I used some Memory Photocards.

I cut out each Memory Photocard. Then, I fold each in half to create a front and back to every inner page.

After creating my inner pages, I binded my mini notebook together with a Bind-it-All.

Voila! A fairly simple project idea using some of these beautiful papers!

For my second project, I created a birthday decorative wall hanging. It also works great as a birthday card. Just write a note on it to add a personal touch to it!

I used another Memory Photocard on this project.

...and to add dimension to the project, I worked with a Secret Keeper Window. I misted it to give it color, and then I adhered it to my project.

...so what do you think?! Bright and fun stuff, right?!

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Hugs,
sarah.

Total Sweetness

One of the things I love best about Urban Lily is the fun colors of the papers. For my projects today, I decided to create some cupcakes playing with the blue and green color combination. I created a card and two cupcakes (using a template).
The cupcakes slide out of their holders and can be opened up to reveal small gifts if you wanted to use them to deliver a present. I actually made them for my shelf in my craft room! I used the super awesome Helmar 450 Quick Dry to put the holders together so I didn't have to sit around waiting to get on with the project!

I chose two toppings for my cupcakes, one that has a simple swirl pattern and one that has a little swirled button top. The blue swirl stands up so well because it is made from the Urban Lily Luna Photo Cards, which is a super wonderful stiff cardstock. The holder was made from Sugary Breeze and can also be seen as the topper for the cupcake below.
And no gift could be complete without a card!

To make the cupcake card, I sewed around the oval on the Luna Photo Cards with my sewing machine and black thread. I then used a folded piece of cardstock Massimo Blink left over from making the green cupcake holder to make the holder for the cupcake on the card. The flower on top of the cupcake was made by cutting out progressively smaller circles from May Ella Petite and cutting down from the edge toward the center. I crinkled the circles and stacked them. The smaller circles are inked and folded so that the flower has alot of dimension. The entire project is mounted on cardstock using Helmar Professional Acid Free glue that is also super sticky and doesn't wrinkle when it dries. I had so much fun making these cupcakes and can't wait to give the card to a friend!

I hope you enjoyed all of these sweet Urban Lily Projects!
