My last page for Urban Swank - laughing party by Petra

The time has come to say good bye and thank you for this time. My nine month DT term has come to an end and I must say it was very nice to get the oppounity to scrap with my old time favorite Urban Lily ♥ which will allways have a place in my scrappy heart.

I will end with a page made using my favorite collections ... well I have a few more *LOL*.. but some of my favorite collections. The title says "Skrattfest" which is Swedish and means "laughing party" or something similar. Anyway the page makes me smile.

Bye and thanks ♥

Using those Halloween Photos

So now we have all taken these fab and striking Halloween photos and as the feast is over we have time to document and save those precious memories.
After misting some warm orange and gold on my background white card stock, I used the Urban Lily Mooch and Sugar Collection together with the Urban Cut mini book bright to cut elements in various colors of yellow, orange and red. I then outlined all elements that didn't already have a border and put them randomly under the photo. I also used black card stock to highlight the photos after sanding the edges to make a bright contrast.
Some alphas, some flowers and bling, washi tape and a clip, and finally a stamp and then I am ready - easy peasy.

On the road

A few weeks ago I made some ATC cards for the Urban Swank blog. Now I just added a few pictures of the same size and some journaling and the page was ready. Super easy.

Journaling:
You are headed for the future.
May I help you to shape you into a good person?
Can I support you in future problems?
May I share your joy?
Will I see you grow up?
May I walk by your side?
Whatever happens I will always love you my sweet Alva!

This layout was based on a sketch by my good friend, Charlotte.  The photo is of my oldest and youngest daughters, a few years ago.  I used lots of inks and a bit of gesso with a bit of bling and some flowers from my stash.

Beautiful ♥ Sweet by Petra

I have a real passion for the Mooch paper line and the big pink circle inspired my to do some small circles using mist. I also cut out a smaller half circle from the mooch paper and used at the edge of the paper.

I cut out some flowers from the happy everything paper but I wanted some more variations in color (one of the flowers was all deep pink) so I used a white pen to color parts of the flower - to make it look more like the other flowers. I then smothed the white with my finger tip until I had the effect I was serching for. I mounted the flowers on 3D foam.

I cut the title form a Happy Everything paper.

Supply:
Urban lily Mooch SugarHigh ULP 530,Happy Everything Always ULP314, Beautiful ULP312, Friends ULP310,
other: MS border punch, Mist, staples, 3D foam, heart stickers

Brothers

Hi everyone! It's Janet here with you today.

My 2 little grandnephews are just too cute and they love each other so much. I had these photos of them from last Mother's Day and thought these papers would be the perfect choice to create a layout.

I used Polo from the Blink collection and Bloss from the Sugary collection.

The whole page just came together so quickly and it helped that I used a sketch from Sketchabilities.

MayElla collection by Petra

She loves to be outdoors my little girl. When I saw the papers of the MayElla collection and those big green circles I just knew I wanted to make a rather strict graphical design and let those fussy cut green circles extend outside the borders - outside the box - I also added some punched leaves that peeks outside the borders.

Supply (Utomhus / Outdoors):
Urban Lily MayElla Collection: Petite (ULP323), Sassy (ULP320), Impish (ULP325)

I used the left over pieces of the MayElla papers to create a second layout in a more wimsy style. I added a Photocard and cut the journaling spot from Urban Cuts accents. The layout is a bout my favorite Paul Frank flippflopp that has past on to a life after this :).

Supply (R.I.P):
Urban Lily MayElla Collection: Petite (ULP323), Impish (ULP325)
Urban Lily Photocards Posh (ULP540), Urban Cuts Accents (ULP340)

When the papers are just perfect by Petra

what do you do?
I found this this paper Linen dot from the Everyday Lily Collection and I just fell in love ♥ The paper already had one of the frames so I grabed a pen and just made the other so I could fit both my pictures. I added some butterflies in black also. I also got some fun PSA stamps in my DT-pack and I just added them randomly along the right edge. The title På Stranden means At the beach.

Supply:

Urban Lily: Everyday Lily collection - Linen Dot ULP334

PSA stamps, black pen, coloring pens, MS Butterfly punch.

Now I would love to see other layouts where you have used the paper "almost as is" ♥

First Post and a Little Technique

Cardstock:Bazzill
PP:Urban Lily
Punches:M.S.
Mist:PK Glitz
Flowers:Prima
Rhinestones:Kaiser
Copics

Hi everyone! It's Janet here and this is my first blog post for Urban Swank and I have to tell you that I am super excited to be on the DT with all my fellow super talented Swanky Gurls!!!

Today I have a layout that I created using some of the gorgeous Urban Lily papers.
I found this photo of my Mom and my son Jonathan from Mother's Day 1987 and just had to scrap it.
The photo was taken at the Cozy Restaurant where we go every year on Mother's Day.

I cut out the circle from the Pink Flamingo paper to use as my focal paper to house my photo.

I matted my photo with the Honey paper and one of the Memory Photo cards.

For my journaling I used one of the Accents from the Urban Cut Collection

I then embellished my page with some butterflies and some pretty Prima flowers.

Do you see that pretty scalloped edging on my round background paper? How did I do it you ask? Well I'll tell you...........I used a border punch!

Let me explain how I did it.

Cut a strip of pp about 1-1 1/2" wide and then border punch it.

Then cut in between each scallop.

Run adhesive along the backside of your circle and adhere each "scallop" where you want it and viola....you are done!

I hope that you have enjoyed my first post and maybe even learned a little something.:)

Round and Round with Virginia

Do you cringe at the sight of paper not in the traditional 12x12 shape and size? Or do you jump up with glee?

Personally I love the unique look of non-traditional shapes and sizes of papers. One of the Urban Lily papers that I particularily love is the preprinted circle with a floral bouquet on the side; that is, Lala and Pink Flamingo.

Here are my layouts using the Lala and Pink Flamingo, respectively, papers.

Additional Supplies:  BasicGrey (alphas, black gems); Tattered Angels (glimmer mist); Kaisercraft (gems)

Additional Supplies:  Doodlebug (alphas); EK Success (pen for my daughter to print her name); Kaisercraft (gems); American Crafts (ribbon); Prima (gem crown and star)

Thanks for letting me share!

Fresh

The colors and patterns on the Urban Lily papers are so fresh and sweet that I had to use them to scrap a picture of myself out picking strawberries this past spring. I love going out to pick fresh fruits and vegetables. We grow our own garden and make trips to farms for things like strawberries, blueberries, apples, and pumpkins! In fact, with October right around the corner, I'm very excited for pumpkin picking! It was wonderful reliving the memories of strawberry picking with my family while I put this page together

The reds of the Urban Lily Lulu paper from the lulliloo line were perfect for the strawberries. I matched that up with circles from Hyperactive in the mooch collection and the beautiful sweet phrase from the Beautiful paper in the Happy everything collection. The title was created using the wonderful Urban Cut alphabet and I framed the picture and my journaling with one of the secret keeper windows. (Shh, don't tell, but those secret keeper windows are still my favorite Urban Lily item!) As usual, the entire page is held together with the super awesome Helmar adhesives.

It's raining outside here, now, and I hope when it stops the world feels fresh and crisp and ready for fall. Rachel
