The swirl in the layout was inspired by the dance costume my daughter wore which had which has a similar deisgn of silver sequins in the front. As far as scrappy products go, there are multitudes of swirls in blings or pearls in many colors and styles which you could use. For this layout, I chose to draw swirls using a Tattered Angel's template and add color with mists.
First I sprayed a pale orange mist lightly and then I arranged the template on the cardstock. Spritz a little more pale orange over the template and add droplets of gold and dark green mists. To create the droplets - unscrew the nozzle of the bottle (some of the mist would already be in the tube that feeds the mist into the spray nozzle), hold the nozzle upright and gently shake it over the area you would like the droplets on. Colored liquid in the tube will fall off in small droplets on to the paper below. Practise on a piece of old newpaper to check the effect before attempting it on your layout.
After gently drying the misted cardstock with a heat gun, I used a fine tip black pen to outline the swirl design to make it more obvious.
This is how it looks up close :
The swirl design was trimmed to the needed size and added to the layout. That's it, really easy !
